This stunning basket is made by artisans in Rwanda, a country in central Africa. It's crafted by carefully wrapping naturally dyed strands of sisal around a core of locally gathered forest grasses -- a process that can take two to three days to make just one medium sized basket. Hang it on the wall as art work, or use it as a tray.
I only have one basket left and the black is not as dark as the one in the photo.
Approx. Size: 16" diameter; 2" deep
Color: Black, white and varying shades of tea. The tea color comes from soaking the sisal in brewed tea until the desired color is achieved.
