Set of three fair trade African wall baskets. These stunning baskets are made by artisans in Rwanda, a country in central Africa. They're crafted by carefully wrapping naturally dyed strands of sisal around a core of locally gathered forest grasses -- a process that can take two to three days to make just one medium sized basket. Loops in back for hanging.
The largest basket has a flat bottom while the other two are bowl shaped.
Approx. Diameter Sizes: 16", 12", 12"
Colors: One basket is white and black. Two of the baskets are black, white and varying shades of tea. The tea color comes from soaking the sisal in brewed tea leaves until the desired color is achieved. Because natural dyes are used, the black coloring varies with some baskets being darker than others.
